Apart from the different spellings, there is no difference. There is only one source of Shungite, and if the Shungite or shungite you have purchased comes from there, you are indeed dealing with Shungite and its effects are always the same.
Is it normal for shungite to stain?
Shungite is a (very special) carbon compound. Like other carbon compounds, Shungite also leaves black marks. Unpolished Shungite leaves more marks than polished Shungite. If it leaves a lot of marks, you can rinse the Shungite so that it leaves fewer marks.
Shungite jewelry can also stain, some more than others. This depends on how your skin reacts to it. After a short time, the staining on the skin will stop.
I would not let this be a reason not to wear Shungite; the benefits of wearing Shungite and the protection it provides more than make up for it.
How do I clean Shungite that I use in water?
When using the water purification stones, we recommend rinsing off any dust before adding them to your water.
Is Shungite susceptible to scratches?
Shungite is not a (very) hard stone and can be susceptible to scratches. For example, if you were to use the Shungite tile Chissty as a 'cutting board', it would get scratched. So we would not recommend this. However, this would not affect its effectiveness.
